Humble Monthly Bundle Early Unlocks Previews for July 2019

Hello all,

It’s the beginning of June 2019, which means it’s Humble Monthly Bundle time, this month we’re looking at July’s Early Unlocks, with E3 coming up next week, I was worried about how much work this month would be.

The good news is that this is that I already have covered one of the two Early Unlocks this month, the better news is that it’s also one of my favorite games.   In fact, this is one of the best months I’ve seen yet.

We start with the game I’ve played previously, and I’ll link my full review.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

This month’s first Humble Monthly Bundle Early Unlock is Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is it’s one of my favorite games of last year. I gave it an award last year because I enjoyed it so much.

Hellblade is a story about a character named Senua, as she explores Hellheim, but it’s also a dive into mental illness and how it can affect a person.  It’s an extremely solid story, experience, and game and should be played for the journey.  At the same time, the combat is the one place Hellblade is weak.  There’s good combat, it just never evolves beyond what is available early on in the game.   One word of advice though, play this game with headphones or a 5.1 surround sound system.  If you do, you’ll understand why I suggest it.

This is just a fantastic game, the fact the game is available for 12 bucks makes it an easy recommendation right out of the gate.  The further fact that you will receive additional games beyond this is incredible.  I highly recommend it, and I’ll even link my review:

Moonlighter

The other Early Unlock for July 2019 is a game called Moonlighter.  I wasn’t sure what to make of it, but after playing 10 hours already, I can tell you it’s a fun game.

Moonlighter is like what Recittear could have been if it had more money and been made in 2018 rather than 2007.  You run an item shop and then fight through a rogue-lite dungeon to gather goods for your item shop.  That might sound complex, and it is, but Moonlighter is interesting in how it handles the game.

I’m becoming a fan of this game quickly and while I still have much more to play, I have my preview available here:

Now as mentioned I will be covering E3 for a couple of days this week, but I fully intend to review Moonlighter as soon as possible.  I won’t rush the game, and I will be busy with the coverage this week but I enjoyed Moonlighter so much I will definitely be back to play more.  I’m unsure if we’ll see an early reveal but if so I’ll try to cover that as well.

Overall though both of these games are extremely good, and it’s a great change from just Black Ops 4 last month.  If you are interested in my coverage of Moonlighter or future Humble Monthly Bundles, you might want to subscribe to either my website on the right column to get email notifications of what’s coming next or on my YouTube channel.

Until then.  Thanks for reading, and I’ll be back shortly with more.
