Marvel’s Spider-Man Review – A web slinging good time.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is another attempt at the ultimate power fantasy. Giving players the ability to pull on a mask and take over the role of a famous hero has become a rather typical setup for video games, whether they be based on an IP, or if the hero or superhero was created for games.

When the focus is on telling a story or having players experience the role, the most important thing to the whole experience is how immersed players can become with the game, and that’s one of the reasons why so many people say “you feel like Spider-Man” because in many ways you do.

You’ll be able to web sling throughout a video game version of New York, fight famous villains, and be led on a powerful story as you learn more about the world that Spider-Man finds himself. The story starts with Spider-Man taking down Wilson Fisk, known as Kingpin. The story is definitely a core reason to play the game, so it’s important not to spoil yourself fully, but I also think the story is the one part of the game I have a major issue with.

Horizon Zero Dawn Design Review – Hype meets reality

I’m Kinglink and this week I want to look at Horizon Zero Dawn. Ok, it is not even that I wanted to dive deep on this one, but this game has been out a long time on PS4 and I kept hearing about it, it is now on PC, but… this is the great PS4 title everyone was raving about?

Let me start by saying I’m coming to this game in 2020, I’ve heard about it for over 3 years as Playstation fans bragged about what a killer title this is in their console war. Multiple critics have raved about Horizon Zero Dawn, and I was ready for a Sony masterpiece… I don’t know if I got that.

Death Stranding – A great story, but spread over too much gameplay

“Didn’t Kinglink already post this?”  I posted a unscored youtube review but to ensure that proper reviews are entered in OpenCritic I’m doing a written review for some games, such as Death Stranding.

Death Stranding is the latest from Hideo Kojima. He’s best known for his Metal Gear Solid franchise while working at Konami. Death Stranding is the first game after leaving that series and the question is can he still deliver on the style he’s known for.

Death Stranding is two different games. There’s the gameplay which focuses on the main character, Sam Porter, delivering packages, and the story that focuses on the world of Death Stranding. I’ll be breaking this up because the game also breaks up these two topics as we’ll see.Read More »
