I wasn’t sure of what to make of Wizard of Legend the first time I saw it. It reminded me a lot of Magicka, an overly complicated spell-casting game, and I wondered if Wizard of Legend would end up the same, a good game, but not one that really spoke to me. The good news is that in hindsight I realize how silly that comparison really is, aside from both characters being wizards, and casting “magic” in some form, there’s really not much to compare the games on. So what is Wizard of Legend really like?

Project Cars 2 Review

Project CARS 2 is the sequel to the rather interesting Project CARS, they’re racing games made by a passionate group named Slightly Mad Studios. The original game was community funded, and heavily influenced by feedback. The actual title for the game is Project Community Assisted Racing Simulation. So after a successful first game, Project CARS 2 should be the bigger and deeper racer. Is it?

Just Cause 3 Review

I’m a fan of action movies with a lot of explosions and destructions. I think Avalanche Studios is as well. I’m making that assumption based on what Just Cause 3 spends its time doing. The game starts with an amazing action scene having the main character, Rico Rodriguez stand on top of a small plane and shoot down SAM sites as explosions and action rains around him. Most games would be showing off their entire game and then flashback to a simpler start, but this is Just Cause 3, it revels in its dedication to action. So is that enough to sustain the entire game?

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Review

After reviewing Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc in September 2018, it stuck in my head. The story was good and the game was unique, so ultimately I’m going to give it a special award. It was the first game where I felt I needed to play its sequel. I did abstain from it for a little while waiting for a good price, but I also needed to play more of it. And thus we return to Hope’s Peak Academy, for Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Three months later and we’re going back to school.

Disgaea 5 Complete Review

Disgaea is a long-running series of SRPG from Nippon Ichi that started on the PlayStation 2 and have had relatively constant releases. While it remained the PlayStation family of consoles for a long time, a couple of years ago Nippon Ichi ported the original game to the PC, along with the sequel the next year. This year, however, Nippon Ichi suddenly ported Disgaea 5 to the PC along with all it’s DLC, fresh for fans to check out. So is this the latest and greatest, or did they just skip a few games? Let’s find out.

World of Final Fantasy Review

Two years ago, Final Fantasy released a most interesting game that flew under the radar named World of Final Fantasy. It was announced at E3 2015 in both Sony’s and Square Enix’s show. It was one of the only mentioned of final fantasy, but got overshadowed by Hitman, Just Cause 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake (still not out), Kingdom Hearts 3 (Also not out) and more The fact is what was shown was a cutesy video with chibi characters, and it definitely slipped under the radar. So it actually came out the following year in 2016 and didn’t get much attention. Was it a missed opportunity, or a silent failure? We’ll see.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Review

Oh boy, so we come to the last game of the Humble Monthly Bundle of December 2018, and it’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This is a big game, and I feel that it’s impossible to divorce this review from the company who made the game, the man who made it, and the situation surrounding it. In fact, any attempt to do so at this point would not be properly judging Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
