Dynasty Warriors 3 Retro Review – Rediscovering the classic

I’m Kinglink and… ugh… Dynasty Warriors 9 is so … meh.

There’s something I’ve been struggling with for the last half of 2023, and while it’s older than that time period, I think Dynasty Warriors 9 is an example of it.  It feels like games have been made to be more disposable.  More designed to give you dopamine hits for enjoying it but also able to shake you off and make you go play the next thing the company produces before long or designed more with microtransaction than quality in mind.  Nothing radically improves, and especially with sequels, there’s this feeling of average games being treated as great milestones because the fans want them.

But also not in Dynasty Warriors 9’s case.  Oh boy no, Dynasty Warriors 9 is a perfect example of something much more problematic.  It’s a sequel that simply isn’t as good. A sequel that tried something different, and has not found more than a couple of fans. And because of that… it just made me want to go back to where I first fell in love with the series.

Dolphin (1983) a classic Activision title being given new life with achievements

Hey all, Kinglink here,  I know it’s not the beginning of the month but I’m actually here to talk about one of my favorite games.  And right here is where I first remember playing it.

And… ummm… I can just.. Pop it in… Nope… Ummm How about.. Ok. So maybe if I …

Ok maybe it’s the box, just put it on top.. So… This might be a problem …. And not just because I don’t remember where I put the actual Activision Anthology disc. Not like this would work on a PC but… the good news is we can go back to a video I did a couple of years ago, about our old friend Emulation.  And before anyone asks, no this week’s game isn’t on Steam in any form I know of.  Sadly… However thanks to PCSX2 we can look at this game and … oh boy.

Game Pass January 2022 Review – Starting the year with amazing indies

I’m Kinglink and it’s a couple of weeks into the new year so it’s time for the Game Pass January 2022 video.  2022, 2021… Ugh, not this again.  2022.. Ok, let’s do it.

This month we had 19 titles released, and while it’s a smaller month than December, I mean what month is going to live up to Halo Infinite, it’s still packed with games, and I found many more of the titles interesting and completed quite a few already.

At the same time there was massive news last week that may change Game Pass, but before we get there, let’s focus on this month first. We’ll start with…

Hello soldiers, I’m Kinglink and It’s time to review Call of Duty World War II.

Call of Duty is a pretty long-running series. At least it feels like that. It’s only about 16 years old at this point, starting in 2003. And yet we’ve had a yearly title almost every year except for 2004, and … well, 2018, it is hard to call Black Ops 4 a mainline game, but you can read about that in a previous review.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy Review – Exactly how a collection should be done

Played on Windows.
Also Available on Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Spyro was one of the unofficial mascots of the Sony Playstation, along with Crash and a few other potential choices. Made by Insomniac Games, it was one of the iconic series that people think about when they think about the original Playstation platform, and with that memory, it’s no surprise gamers often think of it as one of the best games for the system. Twenty years have passed but the original three Spyro games have returned in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy made by Toys for Bob. But how well can a twenty-year-old game perform in the modern era?

Disclosure (interview) at the end.

The yearly Call of Duty came out in October of last year and Activision finally changed up the formula in a shocking new way.
