It’s time to discuss one of the hardest games to talk about. Danganronpa. No, it’s not a bad game, nor is it really hard to describe. It’s just near unpronounceable for me. I finally found a good pronunciation guide (“Dang it Ron Paul”) and that’s what I’m going with. Well, it’s time for me to face the pain and try to discuss it. I had very little exposure to this game before playing and that’s a good thing for it, though I know it’s rather popular. Does it live up to the hype?

25 years ago, in 1993, Cyan released Myst and it was unique, impressive, and something truly different for a video game. It’s an experience where the player could explore a number of unique worlds and had to solve puzzles to advance a story and open up new locations It was so successful it spawned a number of sequels turning into a very powerful franchise. 25 years later, I’m playing Obduction, also from Cyan, which came out a couple of years ago. Yakuza 0 Review

I’ve been very excited to write this review for quite a while. The Yakuza series has been on my radar since I played Yakuza 4 in 2016. I liked the experience but I had some reservations about that game. It was a solid experience, but there were four characters which was a bit much, however, the game itself shined and the gameplay was enjoyable. I just wanted to see another game in that same style. However, time, money, and switching to PC/Steam made it hard to return to the series. So I waited and hoped for another opportunity. Earlier this year Sega finally gave me what I was asking for. Yakuza finally came to PC and Steam with Yakuza 0. I bought it on launch and after having put in 70 hours into the game I’m here to tell you what I thought of it.

So we finally end the Humble Monthly Bundle for September 2018, with one of the longest games I’ve ever played. This is Tales of Berseria.

So I published a review of Tales of Zesteria on May 5th, 2018 and I was a bit savage. It was a good game and I recommended it, but it had so many flaws that I pointed most of them out. Tales of Berseria is a follow up to it and was published the following year, only about 18 months after Zesteria, and for such a large game that should be a big warning sign. Yet, that’s what Bandai Namco did, so it’ up to me to find out if it paid off?

Mega Man X Legacy Collection Review

“The Original Mega Man series is one of the best series of games ever” Hold on, I’m going to have to pull a Kanye here. “Mega Man X is one of the best Mega Man games of all time.” Thank you.

The fact is when the original Mega Man Legacy Collection came out, I picked it up and played it, and it was a solid game. However, even with save states and more, the entire time I played it, I kept thinking “I really miss Mega Man X”. So Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 came out and admittedly I haven’t played it yet, but I still wanted the Mega Man X versions. Finally, Capcom figured it out and released Mega Man X Legacy Collection. This is a collection I’ve been dying to play, even playing it as one of the first games I tried at E3 this year. So was I wearing nostalgia goggles or is Mega Man X Legacy Collection live up to the hype?

Welcome to the second in the series of Humble Monthly Bundle games for September 2018. Today we’re covering Sniper Elite 4. We’ve previously covered Staxel, and still have Tales of Berseria to come.

Sniper Elite 4 is pretty much what it promises, the fourth game in a series about an elite sniper. It’s a rather interesting series, that I’ve played in past and had some issues with. However this is the latest and greatest, so is it worth picking up?

It’s that time of the month, it’s about half way through the month, which means it’s time to look at the Humble Monthly Bundle for September 2018. We have three games this month, Staxel, Sniper Elite 4 and Tales of Berseria, which I’ll tackle in that order. I am going to up the priority on Humble Monthly Bundle so it’ll knock a few reviews out of order, but I will try to maintain the order after I get these out of the way.

So when looking at Staxel and I saw that it was called a 3d multiplayer farming simulator. I also noticed the art style and I said what everyone has probably said about this game. “It’s Minecraft meets Stardew Valley?” The fact is, I don’t think it’s possible to avoid that comparison and we’ll get there for sure. At the same time, it’s in the Humble Monthly Bundle and has been in Early Access for seven months so let’s see what there is in this game.

This is the Police Review

“Usually before I go shaking my tits for the press, I like to see how the professionals do it” This is how This is the Police starts up with the opening cinematic every time you boot it up. There’s such a long delay on the skip button, that it’s impossible to avoid the word “tits” being said by the game itself. It’s a crass line that doesn’t age well, and hearing it close to 10 times, I cringe every time I hear it. It does try to set the mood for the game, but if this is the first thing the game wants you to know about it, can it really be hiding anything?
